A breeze shifted through the skinny trees, and Dusty spread her arms to take it in. It was a beautiful day to be hiking, at least here in the woods, and was she ever excited. A while back there had been the unmistakable glint of a man-made structure between the trees, and as it grew bigger and bigger on the horizon, Dusty felt her pace increase instinctively. Suddenly though, she stopped, her hands held down and awkwardly away from her sides, shaking slightly. Professor Yurnable's laboratory was atop a steep hill, which could even be considered a small mountain in some countries. Holding her briefcase up close to her chest, Dusty wiggled her head before exploding in a tiny jump, thrilled to get in some climbing. She snapped the case to the back of her belt and rushed forward to the cliff-side, once again away from the road. She travelled off-road to avoid anyone who might be looking for her, and had somehow managed to avoid being attacked by the few pokemon she had encountered. Grabbing hold of a nearby stone which jut out on the side, Dusty was grateful of the slope on the hill, and even more appreciative that the stone did not give way to her weight as she lifted herself up off the ground as a test. The breeze came again, scattering some sand and soil from higher up on the hill-face and sprinkling it across the young woman. She closed her eyes just in time, and smiled as she moved the ribbon on her hat to tie it around her neck. Ape-like she clambered up the hill; slowly and with calculation. The slope nearer the top was less great, and a little disgruntled, she resorted to crawling, every now and then reaching for an up-stretched root for reassurance. She ended up outside a fence encircling a tiny field of pokemon, and again Dusty's insides buzzed with anticipation. Carefully she inched around the enclosure, and once on more sturdy ground, rushed to the main gate, knocking loudly before wiping down her face and clothes in attempts to look at least mildly presentable.
